OUR STORY

The story began in 1998 when Talk To Me founder, Brooke Allen, was a business manager. He took his employees for a weekend at a corporate retreat in the Poconos and, quite frankly, everyone had an awful time. The facilities were dingy, the food was worse than his high school cafeteria, and the entertainment was second-rate.

The following year he decided to take his team on a weekend cruise from New York to Halifax. The facilities were top notch, the food was tasty and plentiful, and the entertainment was excellent.

The only problem was that during the during the days at sea most of the activities were designed to separate you from your money.  So, instead of going to art auctions and bingo, Brooke and his staff got together to present interesting things they had done and discuss interesting books they had read.

It was such a great success that they repeated it nearly a dozen time. What began with only six people on a short trip to Halifax grew to week-long cruises  for employees, family, and friends.

After he retired, Brooke teamed up with his friend Marta Anicic to expand the concept beyond family and friends to include everyone interested in being interesting.
